SIGMA CHI

The Nu Associate Chapter of Sigma Chi returned to Northwestern in the spring of 2025, reviving the glory of one of the school’s first fraternities. The story of Sigma Chi at Northwestern goes all the way back to 1869, and although much has changed since then, the core pillars of the fraternity – friendship, justice, and learning – still serve as a framework for how our brothers live each day.

Since 2025, the chapter has quickly grown into a community of nearly 30 brothers, all coming from different backgrounds. Our Sigs are involved in every aspect of campus life, from business fraternities to opera, and from club sports to religious groups. Our chapter is a welcoming space for men who are hardworking, considerate of others, and approach each day with a positive attitude.

The professional, social, and academic ambition of our brothers is what brings people from across the globe to our chapter. We have brothers from the Middle East, Europe, and South America who allow our chapter to transcend geographical boundaries. Our chapter alumni include businessman and philanthropist Patrick Ryan (whose name you’ll find on countless campus buildings), legendary actor Warren Beatty, and golf superstar Luke Donald.

The most important aspect of our Sigma Chi chapter is our commitment to positively impacting both each other and the community. You’ll often find our brothers going into the city for a night out, doing service projects, and supporting each other at athletic events or music recitals.
