SIGMA NU

The Gamma Beta Chapter of Sigma Nu was founded in 1898, making it one of the oldest active chapters at Northwestern University. In our 125+ year history, we have initiated over 2200 Brothers, and currently have over 110 active brothers and hundreds of local alumni. Our brothers consistently boast strong achievement in academics, community service, and local leadership. In 2024, the Chapter won the Gallaher Cup, a bi-annual award given to the Sigma Nu Chapter with the highest GPA in the country. This year, over 90% of brothers were involved in the leadership of an organization other than Sigma Nu.

Our brothers believe that membership in the Gamma Beta Chapter is a lifelong commitment. The Chapter has the highest senior retention rate of any Fraternity in IFC, and alumni are consistently involved with the Chapter. Since 2013, the Gamma Beta Chapter Alumni Educational Fund has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships and grants to support the education and advancement of active brothers.

The main goal of the Gamma Beta Chapter is to educate young men in the foundational values of Love, Honor, and Truth. Through our LEAD program, brothers in every grade develop the necessary skills to succeed in college and beyond. The formation of lasting friendships is an essential part of the Gamma Beta experience, and most brothers choose to live with each other for their final three years at Northwestern and even after graduation.
